Vienna, VA - Auguest 21, 2000 - Systems Applications, Inc. (SAI) is
pleased to announce the appointment of Lester M. Lichter as Chief Executive Officer.
Lichter brings more than 29 years of experience in the information technology field and
telecommunications industry to SAI. As CEO, Lichter will be responsible for SAI's daily
operations, strategic planning, developing teaming partners, evaluating investment
opportunities, and steering the overall direction of the company. "Les' experience as
an IT executive in the telecommunications industry is invaluable," said Charles Chen,
President of SAI. "It's imperative that we have someone on board who understands the
IT needs of a growing company, particularly as we evaluate entrance into new markets and
business opportunities." Before joining SAI, Lichter was Chief Information Officer at
Network Access Solutions based in Sterling, Virginia where he was responsible for
developing innovative solutions and systems to support new business opportunities.
Lichter's extensive career includes serving as the Chief Information Officer for several
of the largest telecommunications companies such as AT&T, Cable & Wireless, and
EXCEL Communications, and was a former Vice President at MCI and Sprint.
